In application mode, the network simulator can be used to simulate the operation and the data exchanges between:

A SQL requestor and a DBMS (connection, simple request, cursor).
A navigator and a HTTP server (request for HTML page, request for PHP page, client-side and server-side scripting, management of links and forms, and validity check).
A navigator, a HTTP server and a DBMS (request for PHP page including an access to a database).
A ftp client and a ftp server (connection, ls, get, put, active and passive modes).
