Simulations

A simulation consists in the emission of a frame by a network interface. You can launch the simulation using the pop-up menu of the transmitting interface. A frame can be emitted in broadcast or unicast (in case of unicast, it is necessary to indicate the recipient MAC address by clicking on the concerned interface). In "real frame" mode, it is possible to emit two (and only two) concurrent frames.

The toolbar is made up of three buttons:

  • The first one indicates which nodes of the network must be "traced", i.e. which components will post "mini-demonstrations" during the simulations.
  • The second one (Pause) is used to stop, and then start again a simulation in "real frame" mode.
  • The third one (Bis/Stop) is used to replay the last simulation (Bis) or to stop a simulation in progress (Stop).

Four types of simulation are available:

According to the type of simulation which as been chosen, four options are available:

During a simulation, the content of the frame is displayed. A balloon help is available on each of its elements.
