Creation of the components

Once the tool is selected, you just have to click on the working area to create a station, a hub, a switch, a router or Internet.

You can use the pop-up menu to edit their configuration:

Station: name of the station, number of network interfaces, remote access card.
Network interface: Mac address (to read only).
Hub: name, number of ports, number of cascade ports (the cascade ports are indicated with bold squares).
Switch: name, number of ports, number of cascade ports, number of 802.1q ports, kind of switch (on the fly, store and forward), spanning tree, the vlan level which the switch can manage.
Router: name, number of both Ethernet interfaces and of remote access cards.
Internet: no configuration possible.

You can specify a legend for each element (except for Internet).

It is impossible to remove a network interface or a connection port if they are connected. Therefore, it is necessary to remove the cable before changing the configuration.

The cables must be traced between two points of connection (network interface, remote access card or port) using the mouse (by clicking on the first point, then clicking on the second one). In order to configure or remove a cable, it is necessary to use the pop-up menu of one of its connection points (you can choose the cable and the length). The telecom lines can connect two remote access cards, or a remote access card to an ISP of the Internet component.
