Routing
- Open the TP03_02.xml file, and move to the IP mode.
- Watch the following points using the balloon helps:
- The interfaces of stations st1 and st2 are located in the 10.0.0.0 IP network.
- The interfaces of stations st3 and st4 are located in another IP network (11.0.0.0).
- The first interface of router rt1 is located in the 10.0.0.0 network, and the second one in the 11.0.0.0 network.
- Send a ping from st1 to the address "10.0.0.3": everything works correctly.
- Send a ping from rt1 to the address "10.0.0.2": everything works correctly.
- Send a ping from rt1 to the address "11.0.0.3": everything works correctly.
- Send a ping from st1 to the address "11.0.0.3": this address cannot be reached.
- Send all these pings in the "step by step" mode so as to understand the problem.
- Look at the routing table of st1: no path allows you to reach the 11.0.0.0 IP network.
- Choose "IP configuration" in st1’s pop-up menu and input a gateway address, as illustrated below.
