In this mode of simulation, it is possible to send a frame between two network interfaces, or to do an Ethernet broadcast.

The configuration of the cables length and of the frame size is a way of appreciating the importance of the standards of the Ethernet technology.

When it receives the frame, each component (station, hub, switch or router) can display its reaction in detail.

These "mini-demonstrations" can be played in automatic mode, step-by-step or manual mode. In this last mode, the user has to indicate the actions of the component. He can thus check if he has fully understood the way Ethernet networks function.

The various terms of this layer are all presented: emission of a frame, collision, role of a hub and of a switch, vlan, spanning tree.
